Hello, Al! Hope you are enjoying a spirit-lifting Christmas season with (equally) seasonal weather. We've been experiencing what the media has styled an artic blast over a week with snow and ice to contend with. Even the locals and natives are out of sorts. I very much enjoyed your meditation and poem following your visit to Pompeii. We, too, visited Pompeii (last April). While we did not see the exhibit that so impressed you, I sensed lives unfulfilled. Ours was a bus tour and the bus traveled through neighborhoods of Naples to get us to Pompeii and, then, Salerno. We were told that we would not enjoy stopping at the city of Naples because of rampant crime and the garbage strike. And, we certainly could see the garbage piled up on the streets. As for thievery, a fellow on our tour "lost" his wallet while we exited St. Peter's Basilica. That was just the first day of the tour! Our memories of the Isle of Capri, by the way, are choppy seas, hail and a cold wind; plus getting fleeced at a money exchange kiosk. There were definitely highlights. I'm just getting off on the fact that you were victimized in Naples. Give our regards to Esther and the girls. You must certainly be proud of your family. Grandpa! Merry Christmas! Our love, Bill and Bunny
